Stanley Medical College
The golden Batch of '88
- We started college on 8-8-88, the golden jubilee year of Stanley
- We are the first batch of the Dr. MGR Medical University
- Our dean at the time of joining was Dr. M V Ganapathy
- Our dean at the time of leaving was Dr. V P Narayanan
- Our first class rep was P S Ramesh
- Our first class trip was to Mahabalipuram
- Our last class trip was to Hoggenekkal
- We founded the Stanley Literary Society which has, through the years, gained from strength to strength.
- We have proved that the 'Stanlean Spirit' is not a cliche - it lives on.....

It is a decade since we were jolly going carefree third years. Some much has happened. We are scattered all over the globe, embroiled in our busy lives, but the memory of college doesn't fade. Many a time we have wondered what my unit mate, room mate
is doing...
Will I get to know him/her again? When? Some times emotional, sentimental...
Will technology come to the aid of getting back a lost close friend?
Will internet and PC give us a second chance of reliving our college and hostel lives?
Can we redo our mistakes, this time more badly? Or can we correct them?
The Alumni of 88'batch site is here to do something for each of us.

What is this batch site business?
We have lost touch with the rouges and scoundrels with whom we spent the best six years of our life
(read seven, eight, nine as applicable). This batch site is brought to nail the rascal and collect the pending arrears.
Who is the owner of this site?
This site is owned by all Stanleans who entered the MBBS program in the year 1988 irrespective
of the year of graduation (or even those who escaped graduation through their ingenuity). In addition,
those from earlier batches who, either due to their love for Stanley or intense desire to prolong their tryst with
academics, graduated along with the small number of padips in 1994 are also owners. You can find them in the profiles page.
But who is behind the content?
The General Secretary is behind the content of this
site. He is nominated or elected by the general body.
What is this stanmed.net stuff?
A very enthusiastic fellow Stanlean from the batch of 1994 has put his own money (records say he was not a mess secretary, though he has
yielded other posts) and time to build a portal for all Stanleans past and present. Our batch site is in his internet server (and we all pray he doesn’t sell it off)
